Pit Bull bans are costing governments millions in lawsuits and negative publicity, while undeterred gangs continue to flaunt muzzling laws and brandish Pit Bulls like weapons, and criminals still breed them for dog-fighting and guarding drugs.
People are still being attacked by dangerous dogs, while beleaguered townships struggle with budgets that can barely be reactive --let alone proactive-- in addressing a problem so pervasive that experts have called it an epidemic.
A recently concluded 3-year Dangerous Dogs Investigation revealed that no current policy anywhere in the world is consistently effective in preventing dog-human attacks. Dangerous dog registries, dog-owner's liability insurance, and "One-Bite Rules" rely on punishing dogs and owners after-the-fact, which contributes nothing to prevention.
What is needed is a mechanism for identifying dangerous dogs BEFORE they ever take the first bite. Two viable methods have been identified, accompanied by a suite of free innovative tools, guides, and utilities now available on www.PreventDogBites.com and www.PreventDogBites.ca. The feasibility of these methods has been demonstrated by ethical breeders and trainers across the continent.
FACT:There exist evidence-based solutions to the problem of dangerous dogs.
FACT:These solutions are now in the hands of a select few researchers and investigators.
FACT:Accelerated knowledge transfer is needed.

The 1st World Congress on Mitigating the Risks of Dangerous Dogs is dedicated to the vision of reducing the incidence of dog-human attacks and Dog Bite-Related Fatalities, worldwide. This mandate will be achieved by delineating a comprehensive framework of controls that addresses irresponsible owners as well as all potentially-dangerous and dangerous dogs, regardless of breed.
OBJECTIVE:
Facilitate collaboration between knowledge-creators and knowledge-users to discuss, refine, and aggregate innovative solutions with best-practices into a World Congress Recommended Dangerous Dog Risk Mitigation Strategy for both national and intern
